Cancellations and Ground closures
Mid-week
Individual coaches and managers are responsible for letting their teams know if practice sessions are cancelled - one method is for the manager to set up a group on their mobile, and send a bulk text out.
Wellington City Council update their webpage and phone message (04 801 4134) during business hours to advise if the grounds are closed; teams are not to use the grounds when closed.
Weekends
- - Capital football publish cancellations on http://www.soccer.org.nz/index.php?page=cancellations
- - Cancellations are broadcast on 2ZB (and other stations) on the half-hour, usually from 7am onwards
- - Wellington City Council update their phone message (0-4-801 4134) with ground closures; note that some games will be on grounds outside WCC's area.
The decision to cancel is normally made on morning of the game, by about 7:30am; occassionally, conditions are such that the decision is made on the afternoon before.
